Peter Robinson is a designer jeweller with over forty years of experience working on the bench and as a retail jeweller. He is well known and respected in the UK largly as a result of his involvement with the trade over many years running training courses for practical jewellers.
Peter originally trained as a teacher specialising in art, design and technology, but after a brief spell teaching at Peckham High School for girls, he launched his career as a designer jeweller.
Over the next forty years he ran several jewellery businesses covering all aspects from design and manufacture to repair and restoration and finally to retail from a beautiful 400 year old shop in East Grinstead, West Sussex.
In 1994 Peter joined forces with H S Walsh & Son's Ltd., the well known UK horological and jewellery equipment suppliers, to set up courses teaching the skills of jewellery manufacture and repair.
Peter now lives and works in the Javea region of the North Costa Blanca in Spain where he continues to work in the jewellery industry designing and manufacturing jewellery, with clients from many countries around the world including the UK.
In 2006 Peter made it possible for students to visit him at his home in Spain to receive training in all aspects of jewellery skills. In 2010 H S Walsh decided to cease offering the courses in the UK, but for those who value the expertise of Peter's teaching, the continuation of the training in Spain has proved a huge success.
For those of you who have not yet had the experience of the highly instructive and thoroughly enjoyable sessions of training that Peter offers, why not combine a short training course with a holiday for yourself and your family in the beautiful North Costa Blanca. Courses are generally on a one to one basis, although he can take two students in his workshop, and Peter can design a course to suit any range of ability or experience.
